Heiden (Kanton Appenzell Ausserrhoden, Switzerland).

The International Institute for Biosynthesis IIBS is located at Benzenrüti at an altitude of 900 m, surrounded by countryside on a wonderful sunny plateau overlooking Heiden and Lake Constance.

From here we have an unobstructed view of the lake and the Vorarlberg Alps. There are beautiful fields all around the building, which stands in the shade of ancient trees to provide an ideal environment for relaxation. There are many footpaths through the gentle Appenzell foothills, which start right outside our building..

The Institute has a large group room and common room (including a small kitchen), and the idea of relaxing or having a picnic seems very inviting at lunchtime.

The Institute is 5 minutes walk uphill from Restaurant  Weid, around 20 minutes walk from the town centre (Kirchplatz – Seealleestrasse, then left in front of the post garage into Weidstrasse up to the Benzenrüti). There is a limited number of parking spaces, but we recommend the lovely walk up to the Institute.

We will send you directions along with your confirmation of registration. All courses start and finish in such a way as to make your journey to and from the Institute easy.
